Three finalists named in South Carolina Senior Celebration Awards
In the Aiken Barnwell area three finalists were announced for the statewide Senior Celebration Awards tied to the South Carolina Conference on Aging. Rev Dr Posey Belcher of Barnwell is nominated as Outstanding Order South Carolinian for aiding seniors and funding a new library and computer system. Fay S Williams of Barnwell is nominated for Network Volunteer Service Award for meals to homebound seniors and Alzheimer caregiving. Generations Unlimited Local Motion is named for Aging Network Impact Award for senior transportation to medical appointments. the group previously won regional honors, and Generations Unlimited/Local Motion also won the Outstanding Community Service Award at the Southeastern Area Agency on Aging Conference in Durham on Oct 18.
