A state Election Commission spokesman says South Carolina allows only one automatic recount if the margin falls below one percent, and does not permit a manual recount. Democrat pushes for a second hand recount in Florida are noted, but SC law stands.

The group warned that recent approvals conflict with the city Comprehensive Plan favoring clusters over strip development. Councilors urged a balance between property owners and a holistic growth vision, passing ordinances to develop residential York Street areas fronted by commercial parcels.
The NAACP renews pressure to keep the Confederate flag boycott active in South Carolina as Hollywood critics say the flag’s removal from the State House and monument area has softened the effect.
