In the week after Magic Johnson disclosed his positive AIDS result, health officials report a flood of testing requests. Clinics report backlogs and longer waiting lists as thousands seek tests nationwide.
A fired postal worker opened fire at a suburban Detroit Royal Oak post office injuring several others before killing two and possibly more, then reportedly fatally shooting himself. Royal Oak police gave limited comment.

Aiken Elementary remains the top school in Greenville and will host a February meeting in Rock Hill.
