Army calls up Aiken 450th in Iraq war push
The Army mobilizes 120 members of the 450th Ordnance Company reserve unit from Aiken along with 45 from Greenville and 20 with a Fort Jackson medical team to deploy. The Aiken unit aids ammunition platoons and both Aiken and Greenville reservists train at Fort Stewart before possible early January deployment to Southwest Asia. The 457th Chemical Battalion and the 874th Medical Team also report for active duty on December 7.

Fatal two-car wreck claims 78-year-old Aiken woman
Aiken and Reynolds Pond roads intersection saw a two vehicle crash Tuesday evening. Clara Baldwin 78 drove a 1988 Cadillac failing to yield. Connie Sapp 30 drove a 1999 Nissan. Baldwin died at 10 p.m. at MCG. Passengers Maddy Hightower 57 in serious condition and Mary Simpkin 77 in good condition. All wear seat belts. No charges filed.

Aiken SPCA to stage West minster style dog show
