Quiet hero of Wagener remembered in Italy loss
Lt Donald Cooper, a 26 year old Air Force pilot from Wagener, died March 30 1961 after guiding his burning jet away from the town of Vigonova Italy and bailing out at a perilously low height. His sacrifice preserved others as he steered toward an open field before ejecting too late for his parachute to open. His father and mother De and Eva Cooper survive him.

Foster Mother Arrested In Krystal Scurry Death
Foster mother Clarissa J. Bell was arrested in the November 1991 death of 2 year old Krystal Scurry. She faces multiple counts of child abuse and neglect and an assault charge. Bell allegedly failed to provide nutrition and medical care, let Krystal remain under her son's control, and provided false information to medical staff. The case connects to a prior 1992 sentencing of Bell's son for the beating and rape of Krystal. The unrelated civil suit over DSS fault was settled in 1988 for 275000 to Krystal’s estate. Bond set at 30000.
