NORTH AUGUSTA The possibility of consolidating all of Americas plutonium missions at one site would create 2500 jobs and excites area business leaders while worrying environmentalists. A DOE Complex 2030 hearing at the North Augusta Community Center heard proponents and critics as sites including Savannah River Site and Y-12 were discussed.
Aiken County sophomores posted 78.7 percent passing English and math on the HSAP exit exam on the first try, above the state average by 3.7 points. While many students met basic standards, 11.8 percent failed English and 17.6 percent failed math on first attempt, with 23 percent meeting the standard in English and 25.3 in math across the district.
