Arafat Visits Rabin Widow in Tel Aviv Briefing
In his first known Israel trip Yasser Arafat visited Leah Rabin at the Rabin home in north Tel Aviv and spoke briefly with her. Government spokesman Uri Dromi said Arafat called Rabin “a hero of peace” and said the slain premier was a personal friend. Arafat's Israel visit remained secret until he returned to Gaza.

Walker Receives 12 Year Term for Assault with Intent
Coley Walker Jr., 38, was sentenced to 12 years in the state penitentiary after a jury found him guilty of assault and battery with intent to kill. He shot Tony Clark of Ridge Spring in the back at the Kalmia Apartments in Graniteville, using a .410 derringer. Clark was hit in the backside by three pellets.
