Revenue estimate falls 2 percent in South Carolina

South Carolina's economic advisory panel trimmed revenue projections by 2 percent, leaving a shortfall of 138 million. The shortfall will require 70 million from the general fund to cover next year's school spending as sales tax declines persist and the board has reduced estimates by 8 percent since the year began. The Legislature previously cut 488 million from the 7 billion budget, impacting health care and college funding.
