Clinton names chief of staff Bowles in second term shakeup

President Bill Clinton tapped Erskine Bowles to serve as chief of staff as he reshapes the White House in his second term. Bowles will help fill vacant Cabinet posts while Panetta departs on Inauguration Day. Powell says he would consider a Cabinet post if approached. Couple sues over tow that left child in car

An Aiken County couple files a 150000 damage suit against TranSouth Financial Corp and Aiken Recovery Co claiming their child slept in a car towed near Aiken Mall. The suit cites emergency leave for the father and alleges the tow workers lied about waiting times and the child left unattended.

New Ellenton swears in new mayor and officials

New Ellenton swore in Mayor Paul Parker, council member Joe Gleaton, and water commissioner Mark Grumm on Friday. Parker praised the town and promised progress, Gleaton spoke of unity after a close election, and Grumm vowed to move the town forward.
