Mother charged with child neglect after newborn cocaine exposure
Shelemiah Null, 35, of Windsor, was charged with unlawful neglect of a child after a positive cocaine test at the birth on Oct. 11 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A caseworker reported Null also tested positive at a Oct. 4 doctor’s appointment. The Aiken County Sheriff's Office will continue the juvenile investigations unit inquiry. Null was arrested Nov. 4 and released the same day. bond details were unavailable.

A Graniteville man says someone removed a mail item containing a $20 check that was forged to $200 and cashed with the signer’s driver license number. Deputies investigated a van incident on Third Street after a verbal and physical altercation. A Wagoner man reported a four wheeler and motorcycle stolen from Coleman Bridge Road. A home on Elder Circle reported a coin theft from a car. A missing juvenile was found in a hotel room with a man possessing a handgun and drugs. A juvenile was shot in the foot near Beaufort Street and Rutland Drive. Suspects were seen near a York Street museum where windows were broken and the door damaged.

North Augusta Zoning Board to elect 2017 officers
The North Augusta Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in Council Chambers on the third floor of the North Augusta Municipal Building to elect a chairman and vice chair and approve the 2017 meeting schedule. Wesley Summers and Kathie Stallworth held those offices in 2016. The schedule keeps monthly first Thursdays except April, which shifts to the second Thursday to avoid Masters Week. First officer involved shooting in Aiken County this year
