Mobility impaired hunters join in annual deer hunt at SRS
Thirty physically disabled hunters took part in the 14th annual mobility impaired deer hunt and fifth annual Wounded Warriors hunt at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site. The event, managed by SANS with sponsorship from DOE Forest Service Savannah River, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Wheelin' Sportsman, aims to reduce deer and hog populations to prevent vehicle collisions. A Jackson resident, Sean Falcon, shot an eight point, 184 pound buck after a misfire, while Harlem resident Daryl Wallace, a former 82nd Airborne member wounded in Afghanistan, took a four point buck after hours of waiting.
