Deep Sea Coral Damaged Far From BP Well
Federal scientists report dead deep sea coral and marine life several miles from the Deepwater Horizon site, suggesting spill damage may be broader than earlier government assessments. The expedition led by Charles Fisher found brown coral fields and an underwater graveyard 7 miles southwest of the well, with ongoing surveys planned to map additional affected sites.
