Aiken residents face a spate of shoplifting and vandalism
A 37 year old woman in Aiken was charged with shoplifting 52 dollars in goods from a Richland Avenue store. A 17 year old male was charged for attempting to steal a speaker on Whiskey Road. A woman reported theft of a television two purses and prescription medication by a person she allowed to stay in her home. A vehicle contaminated with dirt was reported on Hill Avenue. Vandalism included scratches on two vehicles on Silver Bluff Road. A tire was flattened on Southbank Drive. A North Augusta woman reported vehicle window damage on Powderhouse Road at Bradleyville Road. Burglary at a Warrenville Augusta Road convenience store involved missing cigarettes. Another burglary occurred on Spruce Street in Aiken. A vehicle break-in occurred on Jefferson Davis Highway in North Augusta.

Aiken County deputy injured in Bath area collision
Aiken County deputy sustained non life threatening injuries after a Tuesday night crash on S C Highway 421 in the Bath area. The deputy attempted a U turn to reach a call when a 2001 Chevrolet pickup struck the deputy on the driver side. All three occupants wore seat belts. two truck occupants uninjured. The wreck remains under investigation.
