Des Moines man charged in double police slaying
Scott Michael Greene 46 was arrested on two counts of first degree murder after two Des Moines area officers were shot while in patrol cars. A search dog recovered a high powered rifle linked to the ambush killings. Greene had elder abuse findings against his mother Patricia and was ordered to move out of her basement.

Spartanburg County deputies found a missing woman chained inside a 30 by 15 by 10 foot container in Woodruff after a tip. She said she was kept for two months and fed, while her boyfriend Charles Carver remains missing. Todd Kohlhepp, a registered sex offender and real estate agent, was arrested in connection with the case. Police warn there may be other victims and consider risk of a serial killer.
