The Aiken Jaycees raise funds for its Shopping Tour Fund to aid needy children. About 30 to 40 dollars are spent per child for clothing and toys during a shopping trip planned for December 15. Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 707, Aiken 29801.
The Empty Stocking Fund aids needy families in Horse Creek Valley during the holiday season through Salvation Army assistance. Applications are reviewed and funds or merchandise are provided. Contributions may be sent to P O Box 439 in Aiken, while the fund’s mailing address is P O Box 517 in Langley.

Edward Yarbrough former Aiken County Sheriff’s Department investigator requests to testify before the county grand jury next week in the December term. He cites his 30 years in police work and aims to explain actions in a car burning case that led to charges against two department employees. Yarbrough was fired by Sheriff Paul D. Grant two weeks ago.
The Aiken Chamber breakfast revealed three tentative Saturday races for the 1980 Aiken Triple Crown: harness on March 8, Aiken Trials on March 15, and the Aiken Hunt Meet on March 22.
