Border Bash fans to celebrate UGA Carolina game

City to break ground on Northside Park project
The City of Aiken plans a November groundbreaking for Northside Park on Columbia Highway 8. RD Brown Contractors submitted a base bid of 2.585 million, later reduced to 2.307 million after value engineering, to fit the available budget for Phase 1 including an amphitheater, walking trails, a playground and green space.

SRR wins Project Excellence honor for Tank 12 closure effort
Savannah River Remediation earned an Award for Project Excellence from the Project Management Institute for the Tank 12 closure. The 750,000 gallon carbon steel tank was permanently closed in April 2018 after grout filling and risk reduction efforts. SRR, led by Tom Foster, remains SRSite liquid waste contractor through 2017 with competition protests on a new contract.
