Officials and business leaders credit the 1.6 billion ARRA infusion at Savannah River Site for stabilizing the local economy during 30 months of temporary employment. Savannah River Nuclear Solutions and Savannah River Remediation used funds on numerous projects, retaining and creating jobs while audits found proper compliance overall. A USC Aiken study estimates 4,600 local jobs preserved or created and 86 cents of regional impact per dollar spent in the CSRA.

Principal Cummings Resigns From RS-M After 12 Years
Cummings grew up in Ridge Spring and taught at RS-M Elementary-Middle School from 1997 to 2006 before serving as RS-M High School assistant principal and then principal in 2009. His resignation came via a letter, with thanks to the School Board and community for the rewarding service.
