Nun dies years after Ground Zero lung damage

A nun living in Aiken died Wednesday after spending six months at Ground Zero following the September 11, 2001 attacks. The nun reported permanent lung damage from the exposure. Two Wagener men charged in area shooting incident

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office arrested Richard E. Miller and Romelro H. Miller both of Wagener and charged them with assault and battery with intent to kill and discharging a firearm into a dwelling after a confrontation with David Smith Jr. at Inkberry Road and Pinto Road. Smith was critically wounded and hospitalized.
