Record turnout causes long lines at Aiken polls
Voters waited an hour to over two hours in Aiken County precincts to cast presidential and local race ballots. Turnout reached 78.6 percent with 63,555 of 80,813 registered voters voting. Officials cited new electronic machines and a high turnout as factors, with some identification issues noted for mail registrations.
