Run for the Woods highlights 11th edition in Hitchcock Woods
Autumn weather and clear skies boosted the 11th annual Run for the Woods in Aiken with 250 plus runners at the 2,000 acre Hitchcock Woods. Bailey Mahoney, a 14 year old Lakeside High freshman from Evans Georgia, won the women's 5.4 mile race in 39.38 minutes, aiming for the state meet next week. The event funds upkeep and management of the woods, supporting salaries for the forest manager and staff.
