Man recalls saving finger of boy with lock washer hinge
John W. Heaton, now 83 and retired owner of Precision Machine Works began in 1960, recounts prying a lock washer off a young boy's finger with vice pliers and a screwdriver at Aiken Hospital. Heaton also recalls making vein strippers for Dr. Tom Latti and other notable tools for the glass industry and shipping parts abroad. If the boy remembers, he can reach Heaton at 648-8621.
