Rep. B. Derrick of South Carolina said at a campaign event that he will marry Beverly Grantham, a 36 year old watercolor artist, in Greenville on November 12. The 52 year old congressman, twice divorced, expressed optimism about a successful marriage this time.
The Department of Energy requires pre registration a week before Savannah River Plant hearings on a new production reactor. Scoping hearings start Nov 29 with Aiken as the first venue and deadlines ranging from Nov 22 to Dec 1. Speakers must mail requests to S R Wright in Aiken. The hearings shape the Environmental Impact Statement for a 2000 reactor plan to supply tritium for U.S. weapons, replacing three older SRP reactors.
