Court upholds life sentence in Columbia girlfriend murder
South Carolina's Supreme Court ruled that Christopher Commander, 38, will remain in prison for murder of his pregnant girlfriend Gervonya Goodwin. The court affirmed that trial did not err in allowing homicide definition testimony and rejected claims of potential accidental death or compromised evidence. Goodwin was killed in November 2004. Commander also used her assets and cell phone to mislead relatives.
