What ever happened to Yellow Bike program in Aiken

The 1996 Aiken Yellow Bike project repurposed donated bikes for shared transport but bikes vanished quickly. City manager Roger LeDuc says thieves removed many bikes, despite refurbishments funded with help from the Aiken Junior Woman's Club. The program faded with no immediate plans to revive it. Portland’s Create-A-Commuter program is cited as a model, but Aiken seeks better tracking to prevent future disappearances.
