Families still wait for World Trade Center remains after search ends
One year after the cleanup of the World Trade Center site began, about 1,900 families remain without identified remains. Loved ones speak of ongoing grief without graves, rituals, or closure while scientists pursue DNA methods and potential future identifications. Two hijackers have been identified, with FBI providing DNA samples for the others.
