Days Inn robbery suspect arrested in Batesburg
Aiken County deputies arrested 55 year old Michael Alan Turner of Aiken for an armed robbery at the Days Inn on Columbia Highway near I 20. Turner was nabbed Friday at a Circle K in Batesburg after the Thursday incident where a weapon was implied and cash fled with the suspect toward West Frontage Road. Turner is also linked to a separate Waffle House robbery in North Augusta where $421.86 was taken in a green Ford Explorer.

Man charged after assaulting woman in Aiken County
Ai ken man faces warrants for assault and battery in the third degree after allegedly urinating on a dresser and striking his girlfriend at their Summerhill Avenue home following a confrontation. Deputies say the incident occurred around 2 15 a m near Richland Avenue with the victim fleeing to a local business to call 911.

A Graniteville woman reported a car stolen from Yo Road after leaving it unlocked. Aiken and surrounding townships logged several thefts and trespassing incidents. Items stolen included cash, jewelry, greeting cards, hairspray, diesel fuel, and a bike valued at 200 dollars. An employee was caught stealing cash, and two suspects were detained for shoplifting on York Street.

Aiken man Rocky Kearns Jr., 33, being served a domestic violence warrant at 10:30 p.m. had his wallet searched by deputies. They found a yellow plastic bag with what they suspect is meth in a Marlboro cigarette package. Kearns claimed the drugs were not his and did not know their origin. He was held at the Aiken County detention center.

Assault over text sparks Warrenville attack report
A text message led to a Friday morning assault on Daily Drive in Warrenville. A Graniteville woman allegedly grabbed the man by the hair dragged him around the yard and chased him with a knife before he escaped. The victim said she struck the driver side window with a knife as he reached his GMC and she then backed into his truck with her Cadillac DeVille before fleeing. Deputies could not reach the suspect.

Aiken man charged after assault with firearm
Aiken County man Matthew Wilken, 41, was arrested Thursday night on charges of criminal domestic violence, pointing and presenting a firearm, and possession of a sawed off shotgun after an incident at a Yarrow Way residence. Deputies responded at 10 58 p m and found a woman with minor injuries describing Wilken kicking a trash can throwing objects pulling her by the hair and pointing a shotgun while pacing near a closet.
