South Carolina House race pits Ellisor and White in 2nd District
Democrats seek to unseat incumbent Joe Wilson in South Carolina's 2nd District which covers parts of Aiken, Lexington, Richland and neighboring counties. Candidates Ellisor and White share similar views on minimum wage, rural development, and agriculture based energy, while criticizing Wilson's Bush era policies. Ellisor previously challenged Wilson in 2008 and has ties in the district to boost farming communities and rural federal resources.

Faithful Kenney ordained to lead Aiken church growth drive
The Right Rev. Dorsey Henderson Jr. presided over the ordination of Kenney who aims to grow St. Augustine of Canterbury’s 85 member congregation spiritually and numerically. She plans to expand youth and college ministries, work with Jefferson Elementary and ACTS, and oversee overseas missions while the church adds two new wings to its building. Kenney, a former FBI special agent and later a United Technologies sales manager, was ordained after an eight year discernment path and says this vocation aligns with her long delayed calling. She and her husband Pat and sons John and Patrick participated in the service in Aiken.
