Grand Jury To Hear Case Of Shooting By Deputy
Sumter County coroner's jury voted to urge a grand jury probe into the fatal shooting of 21 year old William Lawson by Deputy Harold Van Thames Jr. after a four hour inquest. Lawson fled a traffic stop and was shot in the left cheek behind his ear and in the right forearm as he tried to drive away.
