Retired mounted officer Ford dies

Ford, a longtime member of the Aiken Department of Public Safety mounted patrol since 1996, died Sunday. He rode quarter horse Doc in parades and downtown patrols and helped found the unit. Capt. David Turmo praised Ford for his warmth, integrity, and community impact.
