Clemson students vie in Alaska ASCE and AISC bridge contest
Clemson University sent nine students to Alaska to compete with teams from more than 40 colleges in the American Society of Civil Engineers and American Institute of Steel Construction event. The 127-pound bridge design, built by a design crew, spans 2500 pounds and survives 33.7-pound shingles tests, with a four-minute on-site assembly. Clemson leads South Carolina and North Carolina entrants after victories over the University of South Carolina and The Citadel in April.
