Youths and seniors swap letters through pal program
Walter Croft, a Kennedy Middle School grandfather and World War I veteran, joins seventh graders in a city partnered program with Aiken Parks and Recreation to exchange letters, share meals, and meet face to face. Teens Justin Abele and Brad Taylor, both 13, discover common ground with Croft, while 81-year-old Louise Priester forms ties with students Rachel Whitten and Lindsay Mallek over gardens and flowers. The event aims to boost communication, understanding, and lasting connections across generations.
