Paul Mike Pops O'Toole obituary notices Aiken
Paul Mike Pops O'Toole 89 died June in Aiken South Carolina after a short illness. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. He was born in Boston Massachusetts and was a longtime chef at area restaurants. He is survived by his wife Mary and two children.

Veteran recalls WWII service and museum honor
Aiken resident Bill Church, an 86 year old decorated veteran, Bluegrass Hall of Fame member and former welding shop operator, was interviewed for the Veterans History Project. His story will appear in a Smithsonian exhibit and earned a Certificate of Appreciation from the U S Army Freedom Team Salute and updated medals. He expresses humility over the attention and notes the vast number of soldiers who served in his unit.
