A new Home section debuts in today’s Aiken Standard edition with news and advertising about homes in the Aiken County area. Today's classifieds also appear, and the section will run in each Friday edition.
An automotive section named CSRA Wheels makes its initial appearance in Saturday's Aiken Standard. It will showcase new foreign and domestic cars, plus advertisements from local dealerships and classified vehicle ads. CSRA Wheels will appear in every Saturday edition.

Aiken City Council voted unanimously at a special meeting to repeal a policy forcing home and business owners to annex for city services. Avondale Mills absorbs five Graniteville Co over the road trucks into its trucking system after acquiring Graniteville. Craig Crockard, Avondale VP, says merger is normal operation with no large-scale displacement of Graniteville workers and expects attrition to absorb the five positions. The move consolidates Graniteville into Avondale's Alabama operations.
