Court in Review: Lewd Acts Case Ends in Suspended Sentence
Frederick Lee Scott, 38, of Aiken admitted a lewd act on a minor and received a 10 year suspended sentence with 3 years probation and 376 days credit after an Alford plea. Judge Jack Early warned the negotiated result reflected the state's position rather than a conviction. In a separate case Anthony Maurice Shivers, 20, was sentenced to 25 years for assault with intent to kill and first degree burglary after pleading guilty to an attack in which firearms were stolen and the victim shot at. Andrew Leith, 22, faced sexual solicitation charges reduced to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature for rubbing a 15 year old’s leg and handing a suggestive job application in a car.
