Man dies after being struck by train at rail crossing
A Gloverville man identified as Carol Wood Jr of Rabbit Hill Drive was killed early Sunday when a Norfolk Southern train struck him at the Pleasure Island Road crossing. The coroner said Wood, 38, was found on the tracks around 1:55 a.m. and autopsy was planned in Newberry. A note found at the scene remains undisclosed.

Family survives bridge collapse in North Augusta
North Augusta family on the Lowe's Motor Speedway overpass was on the collapsed pedestrian bridge that sent 107 racing fans to hospitals after the NASCAR All-Star event. Terrell Kearse suffered two broken legs and a back injury, Debbie and Pam were scratched and injured, Michael was uninjured.

Seniors deliver meals for Meals on Wheels at Trinity Home
