Fifth-Grader Picked For Penmanship

Jennifer Fata, 11, from Sacred Heart School in Cullman Alabama, was named grand champion of the national handwriting contest after beating more than 90 000 elementary students. The event sponsored by Zaner Bloser of Columbus Ohio and Parker Pen subsidiary of Gillette highlighted flawless form and slant.

Washington 31 charged with felony theft by deception Washington posed as a pregnant woman needing money for an abortion and a car The victim met Washington in February on a Lincoln street and was told the man was pregnant with triplets and needed funds The victim spoke on condition of anonymity and described Washington as very smooth

Salt restriction not beneficial for many high blood pressure patients

A Canadian study in the Journal of the American Medical Association argues that while salt restriction lowers blood pressure in hypertensive patients over 45, it offers little or no benefit to younger hypertensives and those with normal blood pressure. The findings challenge current guidelines amid about 50 million Americans with high blood pressure.
