A $1.3 million Market Place shopping center will rise on seven acres along University Parkway between Capri's and Lowe's. Kroger and Treasury Drug will anchor the complex with a Family Dollar store, plus additional shops planned. Construction begins in June with completion targeted by late summer and opening not before February 1979. Atlanta investors via Market Place Ltd. employ Franklin D. Beattie Jr. locally. The land cost $241,075. final cost covers building. A second phase may add a medical office complex.
