House backs self-sustaining joint underwriting auto plan
The South Carolina House approved a joint underwriting association system to replace the Reinsurance Facility and its recoupment fees. The bill, amended from an assigned risk model, aims to end recoupment by making the JUA self-sustaining though some drivers may pay more before rates stabilize.
