Green Gardeners and area garden club presidents hosted Mrs. W. H. Price of Columbia as she spoke on using driftwood with flowers at the Farmers and Merchants' Heritage Room. Price, trained in Japan, demonstrated cleaning, brushing for sheen, and securing pieces by drilling joints.

The annual husbands picnic of the Country Gardeners was held Wednesday evening at Charles Venning’s cabin in Montmorenci. Rev. J. F. Craig Jr. gave the invocation. New president Mrs. Frank Sampson announced year books would be mailed in summer and changes planned by the ways and means committee. Next meeting will be in September. A picnic supper was served. The table featured roses, ivy, and yarrow arrangements.

Mrs John Gregg Chafee and Mrs E B Gunter were delegates at the Ridge District Meeting in Edgefield representing the Edward Croft Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs Robert E Lofgren of Charleston and formerly of Aiken will undergo surgery at University Hospital in Augusta Tuesday May 25. She is daughter of Mr and Mrs James Peterson of North Augusta.
