Investors To Receive 20 20 Update In Aiken Meeting

Armed man robs band bus at South Carolina welcome center

A lone gunman boarded a Marrington Middle School band bus at the South Carolina Welcome Center near North Augusta around 11 p.m. Saturday, beating driver Theodore Miller with a pistol while stealing money from students and teachers. The suspect, a six foot five Black man in his early 20s, wore a brown shirt, blue shorts and white sneakers. he fled in a light blue Camaro headed east on I-20 toward Aiken, with about 40 students and chaperones later escorted off the bus.

Bus Crash Injures Driver Then Delays Students

After leaving a rest area the bus driver was hospitalized with minor injuries and later released. Police interviewed students at a gas station while waiting for another bus. Principal Alan Wilson said counselors would assist students and parents, with eight of 34 students absent and counselors remaining on site to watch for signs of distress.
