North Augusta panel rejects Seven Gables rezoning plan
North Augusta Planning Commission denied the City of North Augusta's request to rezone two parcels at 1220 Georgia Ave from residential to public safety zoning for a new fire station. The vote followed about two and a half hours of public input. The decision moves to City Council for consideration.

Man faces armed robbery charges in Rite Aid incident
Batesburg man Michael Ray Stewart, 43, was charged in New Brentan with two counts of armed robbery and other gun related offenses after a Wednesday Rite Aid robbery on Main Street. Police responded at 7:45 p.m. and Stewart was arrested nearby, then jailed at Al cen County detention center.
