Deputies on leave after fatal misfire during firearms incident

Two Aiken County Sheriff deputies also involved in the shooting are on temporary administrative leave for medical evaluation. A gunman Jarvis died after being shot by officers at Cherry Hills Drive as Public Safety units searched for him. The incident remains under investigation by state agents with inquiries led by Aiken Public Safety.

MOXx Violations Reported at Savannah River MOX Facility

The NRC cites three Severity IV violations at the MOX facility with corrective actions underway. Shaw AREVA MOX Services president Kelly Trice says issues focus on document control and will not affect construction already completed. Unemployment rates by state show mixed gains in April

The national jobless rate fell as some quit looking for work. North Dakota led at 3 percent, followed by Nebraska 3.9 and South Dakota 4.3. Large states Minnesota and Virginia at 5.6 percent. Texas 6.9 percent with 250000 jobs added. Iowa 5.1, Indiana 17,100 jobs. Overall 32 states gained jobs.
