Courthouse plan offered by Aiken County taxpayers
The Aiken County Taxpayers Association presented a $1,653,914 package to Councilto renovate and expand the courthouse. It calls for using existing buildings to add three usable courtrooms, a new office complex with a law library, a secure prisoner entrance, and expanded county facilities including the Family Court and Magistrate offices. The plan would reuse the old RMC building and agricultural building for related courts and move the Solicitor’s office to the County Complex.
