Veterans Memorial Park fundraiser nears completion in Aiken
A Veterans Memorial Park Coalition received a $25 000 donation from Wyatt Development, bringing the total toward the 200 000 goal. Park organizer Ed Hammons said volunteers will visit area schools to collect contributions while construction of monuments and a central fountain begins next week. Bricks for sidewalks are on sale at local banks and the Aiken Wal-Mart.
