School Board approves tentative 2016 17 budget
The Aiken County Board of Education approved District Superintendent Dr. Sean Alford s tentative budget for 2016 17 at its regular meeting. Comptroller Troy Traxler noted small changes from the April 19 preliminary budget with focus on salaries and step scales including a 2 percent cost of living increase and a 0 23 step. The board will publish the budget by May 30 with a possible June 7 budget input meeting and a June 14 hearing, aiming to adopt on June 28.
