Chesterfield Place and Progress House open for mental health services
Two historic houses at 237 Chesterfield St and 216 Richland Ave become extensions of the Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center. An open house Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. marks National Mental Health Sunday with programs including after care, crisis stabilization, walk-in services, evening groups, REACH support, and progress toward job placement and club activities modeled on Fountain House. The Mental Health Association in Aiken County backs the effort with volunteer help and advocacy for rights and education.
