Equine Promotion Bill Could Boost South Carolina Industry
A proposed Equine Promotion bill would levy a $2 per ton fee on registered horse feed or supplements and a nickel per 50 pound bag of feed to fund promotion, trails, and marketing. Supported by SC Horsemen Council and Clemson, the plan aims to generate up to $170,000 annually, with advocates pressing for passage in the next session.
