Jones' 10th inning homer lifts Braves past Astros
Andruw Jones delivered a two out opposite field homer in the 10th, giving the Atlanta Braves a 5-4 win over the Houston Astros after a wild night that saw Astros manager Jimy Williams bench coach John Tamargo and pitcher Roy Oswalt ejected. Jesse Garcia sparked two Braves rallies with a helmet-hit dispute that produced an eighth inning two run rally and a tying triple in the ninth. Craig Biggio matched the drama for Houston with a leadoff single for his 2,500th career hit and two homers to lead the Astros early.
