Tornadoes Ravage Edgefield County Damaging Homes
Melissa Perry and her family narrowly escaped injury as six tornadoes struck Edgefield County. Two large pines crushed the master bedroom of their mobile home, destroying parts of the house and an outdoor swing. The Perrys, other residents, and a fellow firefighter Jamie Tyler lost homes on Garrett Road while power lines and a main breaker were down. Despite the destruction, the family remains unhurt and grateful, planning to celebrate their first anniversary and Mother's Day with friends at neighbors' house.
