Cocaine users report long honeymoon before problems

Fire on USS White Plains in South China Sea Kills Six
A Navy spokesman said a fire aboard the USS White Plains caused six deaths and five injuries after a suspected fuel leak. The ship, 581 feet long and displacing 9,400 tons, was at sea when the blaze started at 2 a.m. EDT. Injured crew were evacuated to the USS Sacramento. The vessel carries about 428 crew and was commissioned November 23, 1968.

Wilson Given Death Penalty In Shootings
James Wilson, who killed two school children and wounded nine others at Oakland Elementary School in Greenwood last fall, was sentenced to die in the electric chair. The court also imposed 155 years for eight counts of aggravated assault, one count of assault and battery, and one count for bringing a weapon onto school grounds. The judge scheduled an execution date of August 30 and noted automatic appeals.
